We wrote a story, too. Had the same question about how much attention made sense. In the end, Prince going to great lengths to undermine Ghani with help from other Afghans is newsy IMHO. Indeed, I read it. And it is news and I get the concern. But maybe I'm lamenting the lack of space for things like the insane spike in civcas, the drought, the peace process, etc. Which is a broader, slightly separate issue. And I'm definitely not critiquing journalists here
