Thanks for sharing your findings Ashley. The research limitations mentioned at the beginning is comprehensive. I was wondering how much of Taliban’s influence without physical capture can be attributed to/or made possible by NUG’s inability and corruption within local governance?

Good question, I think a lot of it can attributed to the govt;s weakness and corruption -- and the Taliban are capitalizing on that

I loved your report; the effort to get on the ground truth clearly shows in its quality. One very small quibble in the conclusion: I think people would be surprised at how many aid agencies/NGOs, and in fact the

...to the point where I think if there was intl consensus to restrict NGO/aid organizations to work with only GIRoA, it would make a noticeable difference. Tough to impossible to pull off in practice, however.
