Eh i mean having interacted with FDA - limited powers in govt and silos that dont communicate/cooperate is unsurprising

Gvmt will be chaotic, but that doesn't mean accountability should be abandoned. His arguments have orbited around a few assumptions that make it clear he has no incentive or intention to enact the rule of law, which is his job...

1. Current modes of punishment are cruel and ineffective at changing behavior; more resources are required to provide necessary support 2. Prosecution isn't a successful deterrent because police arrest rate is so low (note if you don't prosecute, cops have no incentive to arrest)

3. There are no metrics to which his office can be held accountable 4. Policies of other agencies hamstring his org and largely determine outcomes

Beyond all the hand waving, he is admitting that he can't be held accountable for any meaningful results and that the prosecution of criminals is counterproductive - so I do not have confidence that he is acting as an effective prosecutor
