David Reimer was transitioned to live as female at 9... he transitioned back to living as a male at age 15... that's 6 years... and he killed himself at 38... But yeah let's have a 5-year old study... tell us about the mental health of kids who transitioned at early age. 🤨https://twitter.com/ByRosenberg/status/1047983611146727424 …

A 5-year study found trans kids supported at an early age have similar mental health as other kids (unlike trans teens and adults, who typically have higher rates of depression and anxiety). Now they're doing a 20-year longitudinal study on the trans kids https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/uw-researcher-awarded-macarthur-fellowship-for-transgender-youth-study/?utm_content=buffer6b479&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=owned_buffer_tw_m …

just gonna point out, reimer's case was a tad different. he didn't want to transition, he wasn't even aware he was a "boy" till he was 15 and that a tragic medical procedure left him disfigured.

"tragic medical procedure" = circumcision... it's not a medical procedure; it's a barbaric religious mutilation of the male body which became popular in America during the neo-puritan era. John Money's theory of gender is at the basis of trans-activists' dogma.

The lessons of his case are simple. 1. Don't circumcise kids 2. Don't force a gender identity on someone that they don't want Money was a monster, that doesn't mean everything he studied is automatically evil too, any more than the existence of Wagner makes all opera racist

I agree with you. But let's be real: Money is no different than Josef Mengele and both their research were done in an unethical manner and the validity of their results need to be questioned... like any scientific study.

mengele performed unethical and immoral "experiments" in aunscientific way, at the time, his research was dismissed for this reason. money's research, while unethical, he didn't actually cause the initial condition. scientific research should always be reviewed by their peers.

We're talking about different things. For you the initial condition is the botched circumcision, for me the initial condition is transitioning a young male to live as a female... David could have lived as a boy; Money is the one who convinced the parents he should live as a girl.
