what's better: thinking you are this kickass time-cop but then being pleasantly surprised as you get your soul annihilated or being told that it is a completely mood accurate lovecraft thing with no glimmer of hope. so you play with no hope and you get exactly what you expected.

Why do we care about the authorial intent of a eugenicist shut-in who's dad named his cat a slur and his franchise of squid god stories that were made infinitely better through the work of public domain fiction. We have hundreds of examples of standard Cosmic Horror already.

I love the Lovecraftian Mythos and just the entire concept of Cosmic Horror don't get me wrong. Seriously though, you guys care way to much about the purity of the brand/genre.
