Sure, but it is a tad more symbolic coming from the janitor.
Yeah, Obama was all about appearance. He did forgive the bankers though and paid them huge bonuses instead of standing up for the working and middle class
He did a lot for the middle class & low-income workers. In addition to the ACA, the 2009 ARRA saved millions of jobs. My husband & I were among those who would have otherwise been out of work if not for the funding sent to schools.https://www.cbpp.org/research/new-cbo-report-finds-up-to-36-million-people-owe-their-jobs-to-the-recovery-act …
No one is dismissing his triumphs. But as responsible voters, noticing the faults too.
I agree with you. I never claimed Obama was perfect, but the trope that idea ignored the middle/working class is a frustrating misrepresentation. My comment was limited to that one idea—a response to a false binary, not a take on his whole legacy.
*Obama, not idea
This is super sweet but as someone who walks down this hallway frequently let me just chime in that the guy hugging her is like the nicest person in the world and equally friendly with other Members of Congress.
Good to know! We need more people like him!
Hear hear! He's wonderful.
So, you're saying it's all a big lie? I hate lies.
No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying there's a larger context.
Reminds me of a quote I saw somewhere once "the last time we had a socialist president we had to invent term limits to get rid of him and he still died in office."
That amendment was passed by the Republican Congress in 1947, long after FDR had passed away. It wasn't ratified by the states until 1951. Ike was the first president subject to its provisions. Truman could have served 3 or more terms. So the quote is quite inaccurate...
It was motivated by FDR, but yeah, no direct bearing on his 3rd or 4th terms.
She’s so relatable and seemingly so down to earth. Why’s not to like?
But she dances!!!
Pearls are clutched.
*fanning intensifies*
