I saw your well written letter to Gisela Stuart on Facebook - shocked at her response! Perhaps you could show your letter too?

It's unlikely that Brexit'll affect married couples.Even during WWII a German married to a Brit could stay in GB.
-
Non-EU families are already being torn apart - don't blame anyone who is terrified the same might happen
-
I can tell from family history that marriage allowed U 2 stay even during WWII. Don't think Brexit will be worse.
-
hope you're right but would rather be sure
-
Seriously no need to worry about that. :) The protection of marriage is international standard, not to say law.

Theresa May must have somehow missed thathttps://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/feb/16/immigration-loophole-for-foreign-born-spouses-could-close-under-draft-eu-rules …

I think you lost your argument when you started calling her a racist....no wonder you got such a reply.
-
I said she made common cause with racists. different thing
-
what was her common cause which you consider racist exactly?
-
"common cause with racists" is what I said. By stoking fears such as Turkey joining EU for examplehttps://infacts.org/gisela-stuart-tries-airbrush-record-migration/ …
-
@InFactsOrg Turkey joining however unlikely - even before the recent events - was a legitimate concern from an economic viewpoint -
No, it wasn't - as you say, extremely unlikely. Presented as a fact by vote Leave thoughhttps://politicaladvertising.co.uk/2016/05/24/vote-leaves-new-poster-uses-turkey-as-a-bogeyman/ …
-
whilst I agree that the advertisement is disingenuous - it is not wholly inaccurate either.
-
It's a barefaced lie. It presents Turkey's ascension as a fact rather than a (remote) possibility = false

don't you think she replied in the same tone of your letter ?
-
you mean by questioning my political choices and holding me responsible for the consequences?
-
we may disagree with brexir, yet that was the choice of the people you called not clever, her job is to represent them
-
It's their choice to leave. It is not their choice to screw up our lives
-
If you want to have a say, you should apply for citizenship and exercise the vote.
-
Believe me, I'm trying - problem is, there's 3 million of us & Home Office is understaffed (no fault of theirs)
-
I'm sure extra staff will be hired. It will be years before Brexit happens, and I'm sure you'll get it before that.
-
I hope you're right - current estimate is it'll take 140 yearshttp://www.migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/commentary/here-today-gone-tomorrow-status-eu-citizens-already-living-uk …
