Awesome piece from describing our most recent work on the head group of polyunsaturated fatty acids and how it influences activation of the cardiac IKs channel!

An unforgettable experience at the Marine Biology Lab in Woods Hole. I attended NS&B this past summer and I’m constantly finding new places to apply the lessons I learned. And I also got to meet the best people. Consider applying - 2020 deadline is Jan 31st

The first of (hopefully) many dual patch clamp recordings. I may or may not have run a lap around the department halls tonight because I couldn’t contain my excitement!

I just can't stop staring at these action potentials. My excitement may be getting out of hand because I've definitely sent a picture of a trace from every cell to my husband...

Y'all today has been sick! Went from patching about one cell a day and now I'm on my FOURTH CELL! Not even embarrassed about how much I'm loving this!

This article was written from a grad student perspective, but it definitely applies to all levels of the academic community.

Interesting piece about community (and coffee) in science. One thing I've noticed since coming to Berkeley are the casual scientific conversations taking place, and it's done so much to keep my thoughts sharp and my mind active.

Talking to the the woman styling my hair and she asked me about what I do. I told her I was a scientist. We talked for a bit and at the end of the conversation she asked, “Were you sent here to inspire me?” And now I’m just feeling all sorts of warm fuzzies.

So happy to see our work on modulation of the IKs potassium channel by polyunsaturated fatty acids! Thanks

Getting asked for directions on campus is so awkward when you’re a postdoc Like...yes...I work here....but I only know 1) where the science is and 2) where the coffee is

I’m pretty sure there’s a rule somewhere saying that if you want to work on GABAergic neurons then you have to have a GABA necklace.

We can’t stop looking at the cool chromatophores on this Euprymna berryi! 🦑🤩🦑(Chromatophores are the pigment containing cells that allow cephs to change color and camouflage) 📸 captured this hummingbird bobtail squid’s chromatophores in amazing detail! 😍
