Aren't you the slightest bit miffed about the terms and conditions language set forth. " To be eligible for the Contest, the nominee must be: (1) an individual who identifies gender as female;" They have excluded NB people and used very exclusionary language..

Yep. I've had words with them. They didn't want to change the award to include non-binary folks. But the person who ran it recently left, so maybe there's room for change now.

That's awful that they're using "female" in their language terms!

I hear you. It's too late to change anything for this year, but it's definitely on my list to discuss for next year. (I just took over PM duties two weeks ago.)

It's never too late to change transphobic language.

If it wasn't in the legal terms and conditions, I would agree with you.

I would be very interested in hearing how we should reword any sections that you consider to be transphobic. Basically, send me PR. :D

I think this means you need to have a serious talk with your legal team about not using transphobic terms. You're treating this gibly as a minor wording fix. We're treating this as a red flag of possible toxic culture.

That's perfectly fair. I was not involved in crafting the legal terms and conditions, but it would be very helpful to be able to inform them where the problem areas are. I legitimately believe this is ignorance, not malice, and I will try to have it corrected.

I would suggest discussing this with @marinaz, since she's a diversity person within Red Hat (and I believe on the team involved in the award).
