Please stop using "non-binary" as a noun. It is an adjective. Correct usage: "non-binary people". When I see it used as a noun by a group with "women" "girls" "chick" or "her" in their name, I have doubts that they have any non-binary organizers. It may not be a safe space at allhttps://twitter.com/herplusdatamcr/status/1053313521180725248 …

I’ve found this is usually why women’s orgs start including non-binary ppl: they want to be inclusive of those who were already there, w/o thinking about larger implications. I think it’s also why they forget AMAB non-binary ppl exist & why they don’t think to include trans men.

It sucks as someone who identified as a woman and experienced misogyny for so long to lose that community but any time I’ve been even on the fringes of those orgs I’ve felt super uncomfortable and invalidated so now I just avoid them. It just sucks.

Same. :-/ There's a few women in tech orgs that I would never go back to because I know it's gonna make me hella uncomfortable.

This thread makes me ache for more spaces for trans folks specifically. I miss being part of communities that meet the balance between trans masculine and trans feminine (and any other trans experience those terms don't encompass) people.
