One of the more memorable "non-action" scenes from AKIRA (1988) that I love - Kaneda pulling off the soft fabric cover from his bike as he prepares for a show-down with Tetsuo. The #animation is so life-like and fluid and utterly impresses me even today.

Twitter help - a looong time ago I saw a post that was a clip of traditionally animated car race.
- might have been Japanese animation?
- had a Blue color tone to it.
- May have been a commercial?

So, imagine... Leone writes an outline, and hands it to Morricone. Leone then waits for his friend to finish the score completely before shooting a single scene. After the score is finished he can see the story and plays the music so that actors can pace their performance.

Imagine being a 20 year old kid in your first week of a Disney animation internship and you walk in and this is your mentors desk! I’ll never forget that day 😊
Pres was one the most talented & kindest mentors I’ve ever had.
Still use so much of what he taught me today.

The Imperial Hotel has a bar that Marc Davis would frequent during the building of Tokyo Disneyland in the early 80s. There’s a drink on the menu called the Tinker Bell that’s named after a piece he did for the hotel’s 100th Anniversary. When you order it, they bring it to you.
