Just won case against former AB Premier Jason Kenney. Enviro orgs sued Kenney for false and inflammatory social media posts. Kenney argued he didn't name the groups, so can't be defamation. Court dismissed his args as "unrealistic" bc he hyperlinked to page that names the groups.

It’s pretty wild watching the same people who put Pawlowski up on a pedestal now try to throw him under the bus. Benita Pedersen was joined by convoy livestreamer Selena Paley, who suggested Pawlowski was a hypocrite and a waste of her time.

The Take Back Alberta organizer repeatedly criticized Pawlowski for his ‘hostile’ tone towards Danielle Smith and the UCP. At one point, Pedersen suggested critics of Danielle Smith have an obligation to acknowledge her “good” qualities.

So Take Back Alberta’s Benita Pedersen organized a counterprotest against Artur Pawlowski earlier today. She made signs that read “we support UCP” and “we love Danielle Smith” and trash talked Pawlowski on her livestream and other far-right streams.

One thing to understand about Danielle Smith’s Artur Pawlowski saga is Smith is a devout libertarian who skates on thin ice with the evangelical-wing of the UCP base. Last fall, Smith caused a mini-scandal in SoCon circles telling Vince Byfield she will never ever go to church.

Anyway, Pawlowski is hyping up his press conference as a scandalous tell-all, but he will probably use it as a vehicle for self-promotion. That said, the shaky alliance between Smith and people like Byfield / Pawlowski all boils down to mutual opposition to public health rules.

Byfield, a Take Back Alberta organizer turned UCP board director, later tried to walk this back after George “Kudatah” Clark questioned why he supported Smith. Byfield said Smith’s “spiritual development” is “immature,” but thought no UCP leadership candidates were any better.

Byfield later addressed the exchange in the clip above by criticizing Smith for lacking “humility” and being self-centred (in fairness, she is a libertarian). Byfield would also accuse Danielle Smith of believing her intellect is “superior” to that of God.

Annnd Benita Pedersen was at a rally with Danielle Smith over the weekend. Pedersen was standing on stage for a photo op with the UCP leader before suddenly and inexplicably vanishing last minute.

As documented in the thread below, Benita Pedersen got into shouting matches with nurses at hospitals claiming covid wards were empty, staged protests to confront parents at vaccine clinics for children, promoted a protest inside a toy store at the West Edmonton Mall, etc. etc.

When you take all of Danielle Smith’s random comments about prosecutors, police, pastors, etc. and add them all up, she seems to believe the law should basically revolve around her feelings and personal opinions.
