I prefer to see this as the current frontier in public interests administration. Powerful individual interests working independently. The common good is a by product. The division of power between the executive, judiciary and legislative arms of govt is an example of this style

Lol! I have worked for my own interest. I have worked for the interest of investors and I am now working in the public interest. The idea that it is ok for the common good to be a by product of governance dooms societies...

I thought so too. Until I realized that working solely for the common good is unsustainable. It produces a new set of selfish interests. Take a look at international development. It was founded for common good. But it's now a hot bed of vested interests. Too many examples.

There was cyberspace and computer warehouse group. There was iQube labs and Interswitch. They were all individual interests. This was years before CCHub. I agree to CCHub's contribution but it's not to be seen in isolation.

And I am not discrediting your argument either. It's kind of a middle situation. Private interests have to be encouraged but the government has to regulate them to ensure they don't hurt public interests. @Cc_HUB and the Linux foundation are all private interests by the way.
