a very small amount of my cohort are in a position where 'writing-up' is a meaningful description of their stage and tbh I think the college should know this could be quite an anxiety-inducing term for students that they have no information beyond 'haven't graduated'

World looks very bleak, would like the broken PhD I decided to dedicate my 20s to to start ticking, mostly lost someone that meant a lot to me recently, but grateful for the love and patience I have got this year.

Moved this weekend onto Mill Rd after spending time at home home. Hoping that however I find it, will give room to move on from the most consistently low year of my life (even if I have little to be actually low about). Therefore I hope to be less miserable henceforth on here.

I am not a fan of some of the other people elected to visiting fellowships this year either, but the bar of expectations at this institution would only be _not_ the Tory MP who has very likely had a devastating direct impact on many of the families Jesus students come from.

I do not believe Mitchell will in any way have a beneficial impact on the social or intellectual climate of Jesus and no amount of his bizzare philanthropy will make his election any less unpleasant.

election of Andrew Mitchell, MP who gained notoriety for angrily calling someone a 'pleb' when I was a teenager - has overwhelmingly endorsed the Tory regime of austerity, welfare and disability cuts, to a visiting fellowship at is disappointing but not suprising

the population in the UK racialised as white are largely not in any meaningful way indigenous and this approprative usage offers a shield to imperialist and anti-migrant rhetoric

alarming that a term that only had traction under white supremacists and violent ethnonationalists- referring to white people in Britain as 'indigenous'-is gathering in usage. saw it quoted in BBC news today (see below) and heard it on BBCR4 last weekend.

"Despite every effort that's being made by food factories, we cannot recruit enough indigenous people here. They just do not want to do those roles for whatever reason," Mr Opie said.

very tired of reading articles on the power exerted by canonicity that resolve this by coming up with a new and (invariably homologous in its structure) counter canon.
