like CKN here, everyone should leave this site. that is unless the people at @TeamYouTube remember what made the platform so unique and one-of-a-kind in the first place: the fact that WE built it. not the clickbaiters who made a channel for nothing but cash.

https://youtu.be/Bk8vhtoouZo back in 2014, JacksGap and some others took part in a debate at Cambridge University about whether 'YouTube would take over TV'. flash forward to now and the site is basically trying to become TV. the outcome of the debate was 'NO'. how accurate.

YouTube aren't 'taking over TV', they're trying to BE TV. think about it: more promotion of corporate late-night talk show channels and brands, the fact you have to watch or skip two ads before a video starts instead of one, the dozens of poorly made but popular 'kids' videos...

...but, you see, YouTube, if your goal is to become TV, you should take note of how many mature channels and shows air on it, and how the creators/broadcasters also make money from them.

this platform is just looking for easy ways to build it's 'empire'. no, scratch that, OUR empire. i've said it once, i'll say it again: WE BUILT THIS SITE. YOUTube. now it's nothing but another money-hungry corporation that treat it's workers like shit.

remember 'Me at the zoo'? by the site's co-founder? it was a short video, but full of heart and something that lasted for YEARS to come. no money needed to make it.

meanwhile, today, you get a video like 'EXTREME GUMMY BEAR POOL CHALLENGE', made with stacks of money by people who are already millionaires. no heart whatsoever, just another wannabe jumping on a 'trend' for clicks/likes/subscribes etc.

remember when i said that 'Me at the zoo' was made by the CO-FOUNDER of the site? this platform was incredible a couple of years ago. full creative freedom for every channel on the site, and for every person who came to watch, they'd discover new, exciting creators daily.

the people who came up with the idea of this site are nothing like the corporate folk who are in control of it now. they knew YouTube for what it always was...for what we also remember it as.

@TeamYouTube do you want the respect off your various creators that you're currently cold shouldering? do you want people like CKN to continue doing what they love without censorship? do you want to see smaller creators thrive again, making money for themselves and your company?1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread
@TeamYouTube ...or, do you want to see creators like CKN leave, and just continue letting thousands of clickbaiters and clones clog the platform?you'll continue to recieve money, but you won't continue to be respected. now is the time to show your TRUE colours, YouTube.
