indeed! it's sortof possible to polyfill but unfortunately most browsers don't support dynamic import() in classic Workers, which makes polyfilling Module Workers also require polyfilling ES Modules in their entirety D:

Nice!
I still wonder why no browser has ever bothered supporting <link rel="preload" as="worker">. Seems like there are some hidden blockers under the hood.

That is my impression as well, particularly since <link rel=preload as=script> works with importScripts() - it doesn't seem like the issue was cross-context preload usage, more something relating to the Worker constructor itself.

i've tried both demos for module workers and cant quite see the difference, would be great to add an actual comparison between those and other demos, it's not always apparent how to properly look at results

which demos, the preloading ones in the article? I added a section to the top of the glitch explaining how to run them - they're less graphical demos, more performance demos. To compare you need to clear the cache between loads.
