    there is a buzz in Kyiv. it seems the peace talks are making real progress. Ze cancelled an address to Euro Parl today bc "press state affairs" Rus delegation were gushing on Sunday too. "working on docs" => some sort of concrete deal in works & gap is closing lets hope so...

    i think you should listen to Jeet and on the earnest ambassador, not because they dunk on him but because they demonstrate what an apt metaphor McFaul and his missteps have been for the US's approach to Russia over the past 30 years.

    except hasn't the "anti nuclear movement" done exactly the wrong thing? we shut down nuclear power plants and went to gas but kept the weapons stockpile. so we made climate change worse while also preserving the doomsday scenario lol

    This may not mean anything, but it raises questions about the sources of Curaleaf's capital (given the way Russian business is run) and Jordan's current status in Russia, questions he's brushed aside/refused to answer/dismissed as Russophobia.

    In Jordan's defense: he was fired from his job as as an executive with TV channel NTV (HTB) after pissing off the Kremlin with coverage of the 2002 Dubrovka theater hostage crisis. But he still has significant holdings in Russia: in healthcare, insurance, and other investments.

    this means he has or had *some* relationship with the boss, VV Putin. This sounds like guilt by association, and it is: you can't make a billy in Russia without some Putin ties. And turning Soviet industries (and pensions) into your bag is how everyone did in the 1990s. Still...
