Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. It’s the same when you use tabs and not spaces.

Common mistake I see in React apps: Putting state in the wrong spot. Simple strategy: 1. Put state in the component that needs it. 2. Do child components need the data too? Pass it down. 3. Do parents need it? Lift state up. Strive to keep state as low as possible.

It’s okay to admit when you don’t know something. One of the most important skills in software is being able to find answers and learn from them.

Folks! I'm happy to share what we've been working on: 📣 Playwright is like Puppeteer, but cross-browser.

FRC is hard. We all doubt our abilities at times during the season, even the most experienced and talented people in this program. But you are competent and you are capable. Never lose sight of that no matter how crazy the season gets.

One of the great things about running your own company is you can spend a few thousand dollars doing this ridiculous thing.

Commonjs support was one of the weak points of , until today! "syntheticNamedExports” allows: - live references to the exports - dynamically defined cjs exports - circular references - namedExports not longer needed

V8 hits its long-awaited v8.0, now with optional chaining, nullish coalescing, faster higher-order builtins — oh and 40% less memory use thanks to pointer compression, no big deal. h8rs gonna h8, V8ers gonna V8 🔥🔥🔥

Tip: Avoid large pull requests. Find ways to break them up into smaller ones. Small PRs can be: * Easier to review. Intent is clearer and mistakes are more obvious * Less likely to conflict with others work * Compatible w/large new features - e.g behind a flag * Not a panacea :)

Yeah it's funny. One of the many reasons cited by WC advocates is usually about "reducing JS framework bloat". But if you used only the actual native APIs, it would be like writing an app with raw DOM. Polymer/lit-element is still a framework just like React/Vue.

"One really important rule if you want to do layout well — and I learned this the hard way — is that components shouldn't contain surrounding whitespace." Take these words to heart – wish I had learned this lesson much earlier than I did!
