Just got off a skype with my producer bff who is kicking ass in London where we pondered the question - why is it so hard for profitable art to get funding? Is it lack of market aggregation? Information flows? Legal barriers against instruments that would minimise volatility?
In start-up culture there are often many of a kind competing over the same territory and high probability that one of them will win big. Is that the same for live shows? (idk)

Territory = geographical location and market-share, yes. I believe so, but I don't know how the distribution compares with startups.
