(Soliciting feedback rather than making an offer just yet but) would any of you be interested if I were to do some coaching/workshops about writing, with a specific focus on how to write more and in ways that are useful to you rather than some abstract notion of quality?

Yes, possibly. I have a private/public boundary that’s difficult to overcome. (I write copiously privately, almost nothing publicly.) I’m not sure how much I do want to write publicly but might be interested to explore.

My main goals in doing this are actually to get people to the "write copiously privately" stage, so I might not be of much help, but if I go ahead with this plan it'd still be interesting to talk about what's blocking you from public writing.

Actually, disregard that, the question of how to help people go from private to public writing is totally something I'm interested in, I just don't currently think I have much good advice.

(That is, if the thing I am considering goes ahead, I *would* like to talk about it, but more in a sense of hearing your perspective than because I think I can help much)

Am also curious about my own reasons, as in, I haven’t talked about or looked at this much. Just hasn’t been priority- which may in itself be the primary obstacle.

Yeah, "It's not actually a priority" is often the true reason people aren't doing things. Good that you can admit that! It's surprisingly rare to be willing to.

Sometimes understanding ᴡʜʏ a thing isn’t a priority is itself a tough problem. (And sometimes I don’t actually even care to know that if I can cause priorities to be adjusted through some oblique strategy.)

These are all good points. Opportunity cost features increasingly in my evaluations of what to do next/how to spend time. I wish this had been a higher priority previously!
