For those wondering, Robert wanted his father to leave on the boat, too. But his father wanted to stay behind. There was probably about a half-mile of waist-deep water between their place and the street that led out of the neighborhood. #HurricaneFlorence2018

Response to the photo has been overwhelming. Thanks to everyone who has shared a reaction to it. Means a lot to me it’s touched so many. Robert has a captivating story, too, that I’m working on now. Hope to have it up first thing in the morning. Stay tuned.

What a great picture, Andrew.
@cnn posted it at the top of their site. I grabbed a screenshot for you.pic.twitter.com/B7brNaAs5w

Thanks, Kelly. Appreciate the kind words, and the screenshot.
-
It’s an iconic photo...
-
Agreed. This is the photo I will remember Florence by.
-
It’s such a great photo - the man has the weight of the world showing all over his face & the slump of his body. Meanwhile the cat while soaked and a just bit worse for wear - looks calm & resilent. As to say “ Just a bit of water , man. We’re going to get through this ! “
-
I love your take on this photo. The weight of the world for sure on his photo but enough room to spare for an innocent soul. I pictured the cat thinking, “ we are in this together, my hero”
-
Yup , the cat is snuggled up on the shoulder of his best friend , a bit of
isn’t going to stress him out. The cat looks totally relaxed and unfazed by the circumstances. As only a cat could be ! -
Fred-I like your analysis! You have a very poetic way describing this photo...

Thank you for sharing! He's one of my closest friends. I have been worried sick about him! I am going to get him and Survivor first thing in the morning!

Can you please DM me? Thanks.

“She” joined Twitter in 2010; has only 21 followers & follows 10; has only ever tweeted once before, in 2012’ with obvious reference to Sandy Hook. Seems legit.

-
So she is only legit if she spends every waking moment on Twitter instead of having an actual fine. My fiancé is legit, she has opinions, how often does she post on Twitter? Maybe 3 times in her lifetime! Just sayin’
-
BTW - Correction...that should say "actual life"
-
Nah she saying the fact that she barely uses twitter and only once to refer to sandy hooks proves she is legit.

Awww his kitty looks like mine that I rescued. I’m glad they’re safe and I’m really hoping his dad is ok. I’m worried. Please let us know.
-
You have a kind heart!

-
Thank you!

Andrew I'm keen on the fate of farmed animals. I'm sure most would have been left behind...
-
The thought of this makes me really sad!
