As a white-passing kid from the whitest borough I've had a hard time claiming Latinidad. I've been getting over that, bc I now exist in more diverse spaces & see myself reflected back. It's a new & gradual process, so I'm still pleasantly surprised when something resonates.
To that pt: I'm loud & opinionated. When asked abt going into politics, I'd think: it wouldn't work. I'm not "a politician." I'd def get worked up abt something, run my mouth, & piss ppl off. Now I'm watching @AOC & I'm like, shit, this is exactly how I thought I'd be & look!
