While looking into some old repos I've noticed that activity provides way better insight on old friends' well-being than any other social media.

All there is to know about C++ (unless you’re forced to use it): 1) there are no language design targets, 2) it’s naturally evolving under community pressure, 3) only ever works if all programmers involved in the project follow the same guidelines (which may or may not exist)

What I like about LaTeX so much is that it brings the joy of debugging code to the fun process of writing a paper.

Little-known Fact: The Moon doesn't orbit Earth’s center. Earth & Moon orbit a common center of mass, which is a moving spot about 1,000 miles beneath Earth’s surface along a line connecting our centers. So Earth actually jiggles while orbiting the Sun.

Dear , a friend is trying to register an account, but gets "email is already in use" (so apparently the email must be unique). But recovering the password for the same email results in "email is used for several accounts" (???) and it asks for an account name. Solution?

This looks super useful, thanks. By now there should be an extension for finding cool extensions. Of wait... that's the extension marketplace. 😀

When I was a kid, I thought mistakes were simply bad, and to be avoided. As an adult I realized many problems are best solved by working in two phases, one in which you let yourself make mistakes, followed by a second in which you aggressively fix them.

The internet keeps talking about „horror stories.“ But if people aren’t trustworthy enough, it‘s not the platform‘s fault. Solution? Rate your hosts and guests more objectively, then the reputation will start to matter.
