we spoke to the Vice Chancellor of Finance Kelly M Ratliff, and she told us that she wouldn’t mind working without pay if she was in our shoes. When speaking to HR Christine Lovely, she ignored the fact that we aren’t getting paid and told us to get a “loan.”

Yes, we walked out from our jobs yesterday not because we hate working for UC Davis campus but to protest and bring awareness that we have all been working without pay and the university has been profiting off of us & they have been quiet about this for over two months now.pic.twitter.com/kuj71FFOok

Update: so far 95 students have been issued their checks from our department. They are hoping to pay everyone by next Tuesday/Wednesday.pic.twitter.com/RJg78L8kvO

Serious question, why would y’all continue showing up to work without pay for 2 months ??
-
Our superiors kept promising to pay us in full for our next payday so we stayed and they made it seem as if it was going to be fixed ASAP, but it wasn’t. They weren’t communicating with us at all either & led us on with lies.

Hi
@ucdavis, I enjoyed my time at UCD a lot and want to help others to have that experience too. But this late pay is unacceptable, and Ratliff's callous response is disgusting. So I will delay donations by one year for each day student employees go unpaid. - End of conversation

I’m so tired of seeing schools who overwork students already, try to steal every penny we have. They need to realize that we will stand up when they mess up.
