That's super interesting - I read a post a while back that argued that paths *should* be bytestrings, because that's how the OS defines them. But clearly C++ decided that was a bad idea. Any idea why? I'm super interested in any discussion around the topic.

I could be wrong behind their u8path deprecation, as just read that it might be due to the new literal u8"string", but my experience with NTFS led me to observation that using UTF8 to do "dir/ls" is error-prone since UTF8 does not accept certain valid (otherwise) filenames.
