Three friends in the past week had friends held up at gun or knife-point in SF. I've never heard of anything like this in 34 years of being a resident here. What is going on..?

I’ve heard this from long time SF residents as well. How did the pendulum swing happen last time? Can’t imagine it was a Giuliani-style approach.
