I don't know about the covid prevention, but it's worth it to keep your indoor air fresh regardless. So I assume it does as well as opening a window for ventilation.

I’ll get back to you. The answer is yes, indoors, for Hepa filters—but no gimmicks. There are ways to calculate appropriate size etc. Later.
