It's on my TODO list! The only reason I'm still using sysvinit is that it's practically zero effort on Debian.

Oh? I set up a Debian Sid installation on my G5 yesterday and I was just like. Ugh. systemd. Can I replace it with like whatever gentoo uses?

There's a Debian package for OpenRC, so... maybe? If you just want to get rid of systemd, this is how you install sysvinit: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14581820 … sysvinit is really easy because packages still ship init scripts
