"break unix tradition". omg. yes, this is a bug. yes, it needs to be fixed. nope, poettering isn't systemd. it's useful despite him.
Oh, that's not an anti-safety agenda. That's just a complete lack of forethought, cohesive design, and ability to admit a mistake.
