Some people can only reproduce systemd bug if the command is run in a loop. I've updated my blog post. https://www.agwa.name/blog/post/how_to_crash_systemd_in_one_tweet …

Great looking blog, I tried adding your RSS to feedly, but the last post looks like it was 7 months ago... Atom borked?
-
Thanks! https://www.agwa.name/blog/feed is showing my latest post. Maybe Feedly is slow to update? (My last post was 7 months ago.)

What about responsible disclosure?
-
Who care about responsible disclosure when we talk about SystemD? There were no resp disc. when systemd crashed my servers.
-
just running as a non-root user used tk segfault systemctl.. too many ways to DoS local machine for disclosure
-
That's exactly why you fix that upstream and in the distribution 1st. Then you post your rant on your blog

I knew systemd was garbage, but this brings the definition of garbage to a whole new level.
-
also why do systemd advocates often fall back to the "init scripts are hard to write" argument in defense to systemd?
-
because there aren't many arguments in favor of systemd… and it’s wrong (since OpenRC provides easy init scripts)
-
I think the argument is wrong bcs if a guy can't learn shell programming they should not administrate a unix box.
-
that counter-argument won’t fly if the goal is to have regular people running GNU/Linux systems as home computers.
-
regular ppl don't need to touch packages' integration bits. At all. They go with defaults, or choose another distro.
-
by administration I mean that you have special need to customize the deployment and integration of packages.
-
in practice you always have that need at some point or the other. It gives awesome flexibility — and *simple* scripts help.
