@__agwa Here's a vote for not switching to libsodium. Not because I dislike it, but because more deps annoy me. SSL will already be there.
@pegasusepsilon Thanks for the input. That's exactly why I'm not rushing to replace OpenSSL yet. BTW what OS(es) are you using git-crypt on?

@__agwa ...embedded system, but as a general rule, unless you have to reinvent the wheel, less deps are better. -
@pegasusepsilon Agree, though libsodium dep would replace OpenSSL dep, and as sodium gains popularity it will become more readily available. -
@__agwa I imagine it's also smaller than OpenSSL. Which is why I'm in favor of a compile-time option.
