I am in both the Giant Robots camp and The Expanse camp. The whole Miller/Julie story first season was a lovely fairytale. Also, Amos is a baller character. I can't stop thinking about how many stories you could do giant robots in now though. I suddenly need Cinderella mecha...

Also, replace the ball with a battlefield. The mysterious mech pilot who saved the prince, left behind her glass key. She gets knighted at the end and becomes commander of the kingdom's mech guard. You could throw that whole thing in space or Escaflowne it.
