I was surprised by how relatively easy it’s been for our move from SF to Bellevue. I think a big part of it is that we moved with our coworkers so we had a social group to begin with and I think our families got closer abs friends as a result

We left all our personal friends behind in SF, many we have hung out with for a decade+, but I think since having a kid those friendships have changed drastically anyway and showing a kiddo a new place got us to experience our new home with excitement too

Having new “rituals” really help I think. We had many favorite bakeries in SF so it was important for us to find replacement spots (we love Sea Wolf now) so we can still have a similar cadence of outings even tho the destinations are new

I don't know if I've mentioned this before to you Jane, but your info/tweets on motherhood as a dev has been really important/reaffirming to me! Appreciate it :)
