So did I. And they dangled this tantalizing morsel of scifi goodness on what it was worth to save our species, only to leave us hanging behind a bookshelf with a schlocky Hallmark card as consolation.

ugh yes. the movie could have been saved if it just ended right after he flies into the black hole. That's all they had to do for a nice ambiguous ending. none of these bookshelf'd plot holes galore
