I distinctly remember a spokesperson for a particularly arrogant ex-client saying that their "next-gen" endpoint company wasn't concerned with consumer iot because no one was gonna hack a Fortune 500 through a light bulb.

Honestly sounds like a great topic for someone to write about. With Neuralink and other advanced prosthetics, and connected medical devices, what could the future of augmented + networked humans mean for cybersecurity?

So here we go... did anyone else notice that last posted about about two months before Joshua Schulte was arrested? He joined the IC as an NSA intern before joining CIA, and he was a computer guy there. Would he have access to NSA material?

The privacy paranoid among us have long worried that all of our online photos would be scraped to create a universal face recognition app. My friends, it happened and it’s here:

I'm honestly not sure the way that TV news is reporting these INCOMPLETE RESULTS is very responsible. Only 62 percent of the votes have been tabulated and that's not being emphasized, just the big pics of the candidates next to percentages.

Fun fact: That job screening company that scans Twitter accounts for bad words has developers that commit plaintext passwords on GitHub. ... Maybe they're scanning the wrong website.

If you want to be a historian, go into finance. If you want to write the future, go to a startup. Financiers study the ideas that already exist and pick the profitable ones. They study how things have been done already, and cap their imagination. Startups invent the future.

Here's a hot tip for the Super Bowl gamblers out there. For the last 20+ years my mom and I have placed friendly bets on the outcome of the big game. I've won twice. This year I'm taking the Niners. Do what you will with that.

Every pitch deck needs a “team” slide. At the early stage of a startup when the product concept is fuzzy and revenue is non-existent, VCs are essentially backing the team above all else. But almost all team slides are sub-optimal. Here are two ways they could be better: /1

Project “by “ kicking off with Pizza Mia in NY. The idea: if the incredible Slice team was to take over SMB pizza shops and run their brand, marketing, technology, online ordering, customer experience, supplies, how would the business perform? We’re about to find out 🚀

MyPOV: we need to protect the elderly and vulnerable from these scams. A 92-year-old man was scammed out of $40,000. His bank promised to help him get it back—if he promised to keep it secret.
