The man and his family do not want to be identified or reveal their exact location but the home is near McLaren Park. ⠀ The next day the family went door-to-door warning all of their neighbors of what just happened

The victim is a lifelong San Franciscan & said “I love the city, but the city is changing. Be careful. Be vigilant, if you have to wash your cars, do it with a neighbor.” BTW: the suspects drove by the at least 4 times before deciding to target him. https://abc7ne.ws/3iuX4to pic.twitter.com/ZSbs1TZIkL

Events like this can be life altering. Sad that this likely could be avoidable with a appropriate DA and law enforcement support. But ppl voted and this is what they got.

that won't help. Chicago and NYC have plenty of law enforcement support and things like this still happen in those cities. these problems are deeper but, endemic to cities like this where rich and poor live in such close proximity.

Cops need to have the authority to be proactive rather than just reactive. If someone looks suspicious, they should be free to stop that person & investigate without having to worry about profiling because the flip side is a massive increase in crimes

the idea that stronger sentences reduces crime has been debunked so many times but wishful thinking keeps it alive. every city with a high rate of poverty is dangerous. if you want to be safe, move away from the cities. go to the suburbs, go live in a gated community, that simple
