I’m not an expert but I’m sure there are some examples, but that’s also secondary to my point, tho I suppose I realize you’re talking about the childlike characteristics specifically whereas i saw it and thought of timeless decadent tastelessness

Imagine holding this opinion without being able to produce single valid example

He is *with* Pikachu. He’s not an anime character himself. Also it’s different to have a cameo in someone else’s world and to make that world yourself.

1 & 3 maybe relevant—I don't read Japanese tho. Both still fit my point re contemporary infantilization relative to the past. 2 definitely doesn't—no cartoons. Also, many plushies/cartoons have been made of US politicians, which is different from them choosing to have them made.

What's your point. Are you saying the Elite should be unlikeable warlords who explicitly don't care about the poor or minorities or what. I don't understand what your trying to say

do you want yr elite to have some conception of themselves as an elite, or is it better to have them think of thmslvs as achieving thr positions entirely on merit, to ironically distance themselves from thr rank, to pose as our equals, to subvert thr authority but not power, etc?
