This is what we call a "shit take". https://twitter.com/_Undersized_/status/1052899032694054912 …
That’s not the argument, I agree that surgeries shouldn’t be undertaken without necessity and you’ll see me repeat that throughout this thread. I originally started my argument against a total circumcision ban and presented multiple medical reasons for circumcision.

You are equating "medical reason" with "necessity", and they are not. Amputation may only occur out of absolute necessity.
-
So you disagree with your earlier statement that you want a total circumcision ban?
-
I want a blanket ban identical to the FGM law.
-
That’s a total ban. It’s always prohibited. I can’t even name one exceptional case. I can actually quote you saying you don’t just want it to be illegal to circumcise without reason, you wanted circumcision banned.
-
I want the exact standard layed out in the FGM law. You can operate on a girl's genitals to save a life, but you better be prepared to defend every individual action the govermemt and the medical licensing board. And they still don't conceptualize it as circumcision.
-
Okay, no, it’s always illegal and there hasn’t been one exceptional case ever that I can find. You can’t operate on a girls genitals to “save a life” because there’s never been reason to, even if they consent. You’re just making up laws now.
-
Ok, perfect! Sounds good!
-
Nice! We agree here!

There's no medical reasons to ignore non-surgical options. Non-surgical options are generally better than surgical ones. There's no grounds to argue that circumcision is better than a non-surgical, less invasive procedure that corrects phimosis, and education about cleanliness.
-
Yes. Not my argument. I’m arguing against a total circumcision ban. Not suggesting surgery is the best option. However, it doesn’t change the fact that 11% of male hospital attendees walk away with a complicated infection, and babies are included. The rest is in a reply I sent.
-
What. Infections? Infant boys are getting WHAT infection that you believe is best treated by a surgical procedure? Please be specific.
-
Chronic urinary tract infections that they catch in hospital. They can be caused by E. Coli, to streptococcus bacteria (the ones that cause strep throat) to fungal infections. If they turn chronic it gets dangerous. To prevent further infection, treat foreskin like tonsils then.
-
What does the prepuce have to do with the urinary tract, and which studies are you referencing that show escalated incidence of UTI in uncircumcised infant males?
