They don’t just “perform it”, they *have* to ask the parents. Blame them, not the poor doctor who has to listen to the baby wail.

Not historically. And they still bully parents. They fact that they present it as an option ITSELF is loaded. They don't "offer" ANY unnecessary surgeries on female genitals. I thought you claimed to be opposed to "circumcision for no reason" which ARE these cases.

You cant use justification of past instances of an idea and assume the justification is the same now. There is no benefit in female circumcisions, but in males you drastically reduce urethral infection chances. That's enough reason to ask, and the parents are the ones saying yes.

Here's a study where they tried to prove FGM doesn't prevent HIV and accidentally found the opposite. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/265824402_Female_Circumcision_and_HIV_Infection_in_Tanzania_for_Better_or_for_Worse … Do I believe it? Hell no! Sometimes bad science happens even despite the best of intentions. Why trust "benefits of male circ" research either?

Because the foreskin provides the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive, and unlike females is not protected by acid.

Your mouth and gut are also perfect environments for bacterias. When are you gonna get a removal of your gut done for that reason? Sorry, boy. Just playing around with your logic.

The stomach is protected by stomach acid and operates at a pH that can denature the proteins in some bacteria. The mouth is protected by mucous layers at the back of the throat. But even then, tonsils can get infected. If that happens a few times it’s recommended you remove them.

Well, the naturally occuring bacterias in everyones gut speak another language. And not all bacterias are pathogen, some are even useful. Thats why people consume probiotics.

Yes, that is why I said some bacteria. Bacteria can develop resistance to stomach acid’s pH levels but only if they specifically want to target the stomach. Other antigens like pathogens targeting other parts of the body with different pH tolerance don’t make it.

I honestly see no value in the continuation of the debate. I guess you're in a psychological state of denial to somehow justify your unnecessary removal of the foreskin (even if done consentually, you can't undo that retrospectively bad decision).

It’s been a stimulating discussion. You’ve not changed my mind about the belief that circumcision shouldn’t be banned, because I think it’s necessary in certain situations, for instance, chronic balanitis etc. but I agree with your beliefs on pay-per-surgery healthcare.
