Different versions are required because of the technology difference between current and next gen consoles - But at the moment I have no detail on what exactly the "feature-limited version" entails. Will update when info comes.

The next Battlefield title will be on both current gen and next gen consoles, with a small amount of people working on a feature-limited version for current gen. This could explain why Battlefield V support has ended (it's heads down time for the next title).

Nah people mistook a tweet he retweeted about BF3, people thought he was referring to a reboot or remake/remaster. He later clarified saying he was talking about the setting. So pretty much modern day

Do you have any information about playercount in one match? Can we expect 100+ players or it's gonna be like in all of battlefield titles since bf1942 with only 64 players.

Can't see them doing more than 64 if it's cross gen. Also IIRC Lars Gustavvson has stated last year in an interview that DICE isn't interested in more than 64 players because people love maps like Metro, Locker or similar along those lines. Can't find it ATM but it's there.

They will want as many people as possible to be able to play it. If you limit the game to next gen and top end PC's you are cutting out a large portion of your playerbase.
