my toxic trait is starting a 100k slow-burn fanfic at 11pm knowing that a) I have to wake up early the next day, and b) I have 0 self-control and thus will not stop reading until they KISS

Listen, month is great. You should talk about them, send them love, tag them, and make awesome lists. However, none of that helps as much as buying their books and reviewing their work anywhere you can. Do that all year long. That has a huge impact.

If you've ever loved a book by a (living) author and thought hey I oughta write that author a nice email or letter or etc., and then thought nah, that's weird...you should totally do it. Odds are yer fave is a fragile anxious creature who will feast on your love

i opened my writing today after taking two weeks off and am both shocked and dismayed to see the word count is exactly where I left it 😪 i have given it the TOOLS to succeed. there is a whole outline there for it to be proactive and write itself. yet it chooses anarchy.

Imagine if writers were allowed to ship unfinished books then send out edit patches a week later like game studios.

Honestly the best way to succeed in this industry is to get yourself writer friends who simply won’t let you give up.
