The reason why failed is because we are pushing rhetoric instead of making e-delivery robust and effective in India. Make websites functional and secure, appoint capable people at govt offices and allow PDFs instead of papers. Promoting KYC is just futile.

The has absolutely failed to do its job. Instead of engaging in populist policies like allowing DigiLocker for KYC, it must ask banks to draft policies to support MSMEs and startups and do surprise inspections on random basis. Banks know RBI would do nothing.

ESOPs, 100 crore limit and 10 years time are absolutely useless for 99% of the startups. These are late stage issues that govt is presuming that 99% failed startups would automatically reach at. Govt focus must be upon seed funding of startups on priority.

  9. Budget has failed to boost the spirit of Indian stakeholders. However, India is facing a bigger problem. Whatever little reliefs that govt has announced, they have to be actually delivered. So far govt has not shown any urgency though it is an emergency situation.

  10. Announcing a scheme in budget is one thing and actually implementing it is an altogether different game. With every passing day such schemes would loose their significance as they would become mere promises than implementable duties of govt.

  11. We heard about the portal and funding for startups and MSMEs in the last budget too. So far neither the portal nor the funding has been given to startups. On the contrary, existing websites are either not working or they are earning from startups with no benefit.

  12. Govt is not serious about the emergency situation of Indian economy. No step has been taken by the govt after the budget so far. Neither nor has released any statement as to how startups would be granted seed funding and who would give it to them.

Fund for funds has failed to help Indian startups so far. It is a large corpus that is still unused and must make it sure that its fund is allocated to startups as soon as possible. Startups can revive Indian economy but only if govt supports them.

  18. Hi and . The ESOP tax issue is not relevant for 99% of the startups. For 99% of startups getting funds and minimum compliance are the main problems. Would you please address the real problems for Indian startups urgently?

  19. Hi and . We at suggest that a committee must be established to report on the number of DPIIT recognised startups that are still operational. The 20000 startups figure is wrong as most of them have closed their businesses.
