Do animals care at all about our well being, rights, or lives?

I don't think it should matter whether care is reciprocal. Humans have responsibility for the situation.

I think it does. If we were in the wild almost every animal would kill you in a second and never think twice. Why should we treat them differently when they don't have the capacity to treat us with care?

I won't be compassion sniped by continuing this discussion if you can't admit/see the massive difference in capacity for harm, which beings hold the power, and the general harmlessness of animals except in extreme circumstance. Its obvious if you've ever gone after game or fish.

I never asked you to begin a discussion in the first place. You are free to come and go as you please. I think reciprocity is an important factor in moral calculations, you don't. Admitting those things is irrelevant, though animals aren't generally harmless as a point of fact.

Ok, let’s resist getting all high and mighty, there’s plenty of that in this space. My original Q was - if you can afford better quality meat/animal products, why wouldn’t you choose that over a factory farmed option? Like what is going into your cost-benefit analysis there?

More money for charitable giving.

My moral concern is with people, not animals. You are free to feel differently.

I'm disappointed because having no moral concern for animals is a sociopathic view to espouse and I pegged you for intelligent and sensitive enough to know better. Use search to see that animals are capable of caring for humans.
