Would it be good to do mass regular testing of people using pulse oximeters to find who is under oxygenated? Needs no consumable equipment, one cheap machine could do hundreds of people a day. And you'd know exactly who to send to hospital.

I'm assuming the phone camera approach also looks at IR/red absorbance, but with reflected light instead of transmitted; not sure how it can see blood vol except maybe capillaries getting thicker/thinner affecting color? My pulse-ox clamp sensor wandered off somewhere years ago.

I saw that Samsung devices have the the IR/red reflection sensor after u posted this. Was thinking about the pulse apps that use white flashlight.
