I think I'm deliberately not crafting intelligent thoughts on twitter right now. I did that when I first joined, and now I think unfortunately I've switched to a "vomit whatever even deliberately bad stuff and see if people still like me" strategy. Christ sometimes I'm so needy

Yeah it's not a great strategy, bc it means any lack of response or interest gets interpreted in a pretty insane way Is that why you're afraid of it?

Yeah, like I don't want to turn off people who are following me (~uncertainty!! to no reaction). Also, haven't found my comfortable shit-tier end of shitposting. I think I come off as straight man in many double acts online. Hard to shake.

reframe your goal as getting people who aren't going to be long term musing collaborators to unfollow you at the earliest. this would require you to keep talking about what interests you and crank it up to the most intense levels.

Huh. I think I didn't even have the concept that I could find longtime musing collaborators here. So then, it also seems like you need to do some research to like/follow/chat w people in the various (in my case) communities in which I could find ppl interested in what I am.

Hmmm......I might be hijacked by fears that I'll find no one to communicate with on certain topics (i.e. cults-- easier to find non-intellectual cult support groups or cult-bashing groups than like, ppl who've read Robert J Lifton (if anyone knows who that is)).

cults are really interesting to me too but not an active area of study.
