LFB seems to be ignoring the field of affective neuroscience. Emotions are not cognitively constructed, there are a number of primary emotional command systems with homologous neural substrate conserved across mammals.

Lots of wet neuroscience + behavioral studies in rats and other mammals are the basis of AN. Decorticated children exist with hyper emotional lives. Primary emotions aren't cognitive.
