You are asking me to summarize four weeks of tweets. The gist is that Japan was prepared and rolled out its protections according to plan, and managed among other things to keep Tokyo's public transport system open. Most other countries responded far too late and overreacted..

Yes, Japan's response was good. That's why they were able to get it under control quicker than most countries. I think you and I are arguing two different things. At this point in some countries, social distancing and quarantining will be the way we get it under control. 1/2

2/2 It's about looking towards the future. We can stop exponential growth using quarantining and social distancing. The delay will end up showing the fruits of our labor in time.

In most countries it's over. I can't tell about UK and US bc their data is shit, but everything else I see is that contagion is past its peak.

The data is just a sample size, not the whole picture. We dont know how deep this truly runs, and we'll probably never know. Most, if not all, took preventative measures to stop COVID-19. Idk where we'd be if these countries didn't do what they did.

So we'd be better off if we did nothing, and let this virus run its course through society?

There were other options on the table rather than full lockdown.

Yes of course there are. I think what a lot of countries are doing right now with social distancing, limiting access to gathering places, and staying at home will start to show positive signs in a couple weeks time.
