My approach for integrating phenomenology with neuroscience: Meditate* & study Affective Neuroscience. The emotions invigorate cognition, most importantly SEEKING, and understanding the behavioral and neuro findings about emotion will clarify perceptions of them.
Purpose of meditation here is to disembed from cognitive-emotional movement (not suppress or eliminate them!!!), to see their movement clearly enough for reasoning about, and not get taken for a ride! As the untrained mind do.
