When I started tweeting, the best strategy to grow an account was “retweet fishing”. Since the algorithmic feed, it’s now “like whoring”. I think the former has better incentives to take risks and be interesting.

seems to consist of leaning into content that gets outsize likes (topical references, selfies, statements others agree with, perhaps) and displacing a little of the genuine?

that helps narrow it down, still under constrain tho the elusive RT, not that I'm seeking it but it's nice when something I say grabs maybe it doesn't make sense until it does
