Haha stimulated my vagus nerve during a meditation and had a powerful gag reflex. I've done similar but stimulated yawning instead.

Oh man just occurred to me engaging the good ol mulah bundah is another way to stimulate the vagus.

I think it has more to do with actual electrical stimulating. A rotating circular current can create a charged field which can spread throughout the entire brain, activating more areas, increasing electrical activity and total EMF field strength.
